Clubs and Cells

 

Electoral Literacy Club  

It is part of Election Commission of India. The Union organizes events. Chairperson is campus ambassador. Programs are open to all or for economics students depending on the resource person The Electoral Literacy Club aims at educating the students about voter registration, the electoral process and related matters. The club also seeks to familiarize the students about Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines, Electoral Voting Machines(EMV) and Voter Verifiable Paper.

Young Communicators Club

The Club is a collaborative venture between the Department of English and the Publc Relations Council of India. The club is aimed at familiarizing the members with the nuances of public relations and the ways that young people can find their way in the corporate world. The club focuses on creating opportunities for articulate young women to be heard and looks to encourage them to pursue careers in media and public relations.

Speech Box Club

Also called ‘The Idea Club’ is envisaged as a rendezvous to initiate and voice ideas. It encompasses ideas and expressions, be it through oratory, drama, poetry, storytelling or visual arts. It’s a place for ASCAITES to come together to share their insights on life, politics and culture, language and college experiences and learning challenges.

Library Club

The club is instituted with the aim to educate and enlighten the students in every aspect of attaining knowledge. Its objectives are --

       To cultivate reading habit among the students.

       To provide an idea about the library management and automation.

       To enlighten the students regarding the order of arrangement of books in the library.

       To create awareness about the functioning of digital library.

       To provide a dynamic and supportive setting for exploratory learning.

       To conceptualise, plan and organise reading related activities in the college.

       To conduct various completions in the college related to reading.

       To provide access to a wide variety of books in almost all genres.

       To enable the students to lead and spark the joy of reading.

       To provide an innovative as well as pleasurable reading environment.

       To make sure that the students have a deeper understanding of their reading.

       To promote love for reading among the students other than their academic learning.

       To provide a stressless environment in the library which aids in the overall development of the student.

 Bhoomithra Sena Club

This club is constituted to address environmental issues and to build awareness among the students on the same. This initiative is supported by the Department of Environment and Climate Change. The club members maintain a biocompost unit for the management of food waste. Reports   Reports 2020-2021  

Biodiversity Club

This club carries out programmes for conservation of local biodiversity in accordance with the state biodiversity acts. The Kerala State Biodiversity Board has sanctioned the prestigious Santhisthal project to All Saints’ College in which one acre of land in the Campus is set aside for making a wood-lot with Rare, Endangered and Threatened (RET) species of flora. Reports 

Environment Club

The Environment Club aims to facilitate students’ participation in finding solution to environment related problems faced by  the society. It involves  students in action based programmes related to environment in their surroundings.  The sole aim of the club is  to motivate students to keep their surroundings green and clean by undertaking plantation of trees and thereby create a clean and green consciousness among students through various activities.

SCIENCE CLUB

The objective of the science club is to inculcate scientific temper, to develop awareness and concern regarding scientific issues in social, environmental, personal and technological contexts. The activities help to improve to self-confidence, self-expression and creative abilities. The club members meet once a week where the students share knowledge on latest scientific findings. The students participate in various programs like poster presentations, seminars, talks, quiz competitions and exhibitions. The activities outside the college include giving awareness classes for school students and field visits.

     

 

Legal Aid Cell

 

This cell aims to equip students with basic legal literacy. It works as a platform for consultation of any legal issues related to property, marriage and other civil or criminal problems.

 

Arts Club

To elected members of the teaching faculty are the elected and put in charge of the activities of Arts Club. The Arts Club of the College bears responsibility for conducting various cultural programmes and competitions within the campus. The Club also supervises and trains our students for intercollegiate, state and national level competi- tions. The Club also organises a two-day Film Festival in the campus.

 

The Sixth Sense Quiz Club

 

The Club meets on a weekly basis with the aim of helping students to acquire a strong base in General Knowledge. It encourages the students to keep in touch with current affairs.

 

Harmony - The Music Club

 

Harmony is a platform to showcase the musical talents of our students. At Harmony, students learn more about different kinds of music like folk, light, western, ghazal, classical and fusion music. The Club meets every week with the aim of promoting the hidden musical talents of our students without any kind of competitive attitude.

 

Debating Club

 

Effective speaking is one of the most essential arts that one needs to master and develop a vibrant personality. This club provides a platform for the students interested in public speaking and debates to sharpen their speaking skills.

 

Reading Club

 

This club aims to help students to develop a love for reading.The club also enhances the critical and analytical abilities of the students by regular discussions and reviews. The latest works as well as the classics are taken up for close reading and analysis. There is a concerted effort at vocabulary building and giving a historical perception of literature.

 

Vibrant Fitness Club

 

Vibrant Fitness Club started with the aims of developing childrens’ self esteem and confidence. Their ability to over come challenging situations improves. Students can develop further social skills, such as leadership and empathy. The club activities are Zumba Fitness, Aerobics, Yoga and different sports and games.

 

Film Club

 

This club functions in association with Kerala Chalachitra Academy. It aims to create an interest in all aspects of film making. A film fest is conducted annually.

Mashithandu

It is a club that aims at promoting interest in Malayalam literature through reading, discussions and meet the author sessions.

Drama Club

The Drama Club has been instituted with the aim of seeding and nurturing the love for dramatics in students and to help them find creative means of self-expression. The Club focuses on helping students find within themselves, the love for dramatic performances, seeking a better understanding of the technical aspects of performance and non-performance roles, inculcating the love of theatre in the audience and using theatre as a means of community building and social transformation.The club help to instill in the students a love for the performing arts,to create an appreciative audience for theatre and to  channelize the restitutive powers of theatre.

The Gender Equality Club

The club has been established with the aim of ensuring the students have a genuine understanding of the layers of inequality that exists in society and the gendered nature of the same. The Club seeks to offer mechanisms to help the students of the college who are female, understand these inequalities and to negotiate them towards creating a positive, productive and pro-active outlook on future.

 URJA Club

The main objective of the energy club is to drive home the message of energy conservation and make our community aware of judicious and sustainable consumption of energy. Talks, Seminars, Workshops, Exhibitions and other awareness programmes are undertaken by the club every year to spread the message of energy conservation and environment protection.

Anti-Narcotic Club

Anti-narcotic club is a club to curb the menace of substance abuse among youngsters. Convened by the Station House Officer of the local police station, the ‘anti-narco club’ comprises the Principal, three faculty members, members of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and student representatives of our college. The club envisages every student of the college to be goal oriented and innovative in protecting oneself and others against drugs and alcohol. The activities of club include sensitization programmes through awareness classes, workshops, seminars, campaigns, poster exhibitions etc.  

KURUVI NATURE CLUB

The aim of the club is to create awareness about the blessings of nature and to motivate the club members to value environment and develop an attitude to work for the maintenance of natural areas and nature reserves, conserve and protect species and other natural features of interest, by study, investigation or management.

It also  envisions to  conduct field study trip to establish and foster a deeper connection between students and nature and to motivate them to develop the spirit of resource conservation and love for nature. To help educate the students about the current environmental damages happening due to various anthropogenic activities and to empower and motivate them to create interest in environmental conservation is the  primary concern of the nature club.

  

FINANCIAL LITERACY CLUB

The club envisions to enhance the knowledge understanding, and competence of students to manage their money effectively and thus develop a set of skills that will enable them to take informed and effective investment decisions. The club organizes programmes that will provide them with information about basic economic concepts such as interest, the mechanics of a credit card, advantageous saving strategies, client rights, time value of cash and also about choices regarding personal financial matters such as insurance, property, investing, tax planning, savings and retirement schemes

Entrepreneurship Development Club

Entrepreneurship Development Club functions under Innovation Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) with registration number EDC/TVM/43/17. IEDCs are small incubators located within the colleges, where students having innovative ideas can pursue entrepreneurship along with their studies, At thest centres, students can do entrepreneurial related activities, which include ideathons, hackathons, business modelling sessions, meet-the-mentor sessions and so on. 

Theatre Club

The Theatre Club provides students with exclusive opportunities to attend theatre and hold live performances.

Human Rights Forum

The club aims at creating an awareness among students on the importance of Human Rights. The students are made aware of basic human rights and its relevance. Students are also trained to perceive the gross Human Rights violations taking place in society and learn how to react against them.  Reports

Ethics Club

The Ethics club is responsible for instilling basic human values in students thus making them better human beings. It also ensures that the code of conduct in the College is followed

Ek Bharath Shresth Bharath - EBSB Club

The broad objectives of Ek Bharath Shrestha Bharat include celebrating the Unity in Diversity of our nation and promoting the spirit of national integration. The program, aims to actively enhance interaction between people of diverse cultures living in different States and UTs in India, with the objective of promoting greater mutual understanding amongst them. The EBSB club has been instituted as per the directions of the Government of India to foster cultural understanding between the various states of India and their people. The college is partnered with Govt. College, Dhaliara, Himachal Pradesh so as to learn more about the culture and history of the state

Planeteers Club

The motto of the club is to provide environmental cognizance for all. The major objective is to promote environmental conservation activities, educate and engage them in field-based activities and give maximum exposure to them in specific areas of Environmental Sciences. The club will help promote  Environmental awareness in students from diverse backgrounds and also  Correlate academic skills with real world context.

Tourism Club

The club creates an  awareness among the students about Tourism activities and helps  to incorporate the student’s strength and potential and right attitude in the development of tourism in the  State as it is a field with immense job opportunities.

Community Health Club

The club’s vision is to develop sensitivity among students and faculty  in particular and the community in general regarding Health & Nutrition, Personal Hygiene, and an awareness and maintenance of a healthy life style.This  will help create an  awareness among the people regarding the major health hazards, the courses of many of the fatal diseases and their preventive measures.

INVESTMENT AWARENESS CLUB

The aim of the club is to impart knowledge about the fundamentals of investments especially in financial securities.

It will equip the students in Investment planning and Tax management and in turn help them  to identify various investment avenues independently to take right decisions. This can help them to  be financial consultants  to the general public

 

Counselling & Psychotherapy Cell

This Cell aims at providing counselling to students. It helps the students deal with both personal as well as academic problems. It helps the students to identify their strengths and weaknesses and choose their careers in accordance with this.To this end, the Cell organizes seminars, workshops and career guidance programmes. The Cell also extends the services of           professional counsellors to the students.

 

Career Guidance Cell

 

 The Career Guidance Cell aims at giving students informa- tion and guidance on the best placements available. The Cell conducts seminars and campus recruitment drives. It also coordinates career counselling sessions on the latest trends  in the job arena.

Anti-Ragging Grievance Redressal Cell

The Cell looks into the grievences of the freshers. Two senior  members of the teaching faculty, a senior member of the administrative staff and the student Counsellor make up this cell. A complaint box is set up for this purpose. The Committee takes the complaints related to ragging seriously and corrective measures are taken immediately.

 

Grievance Redressal Cell for Students

This Committee has the authority to settle grievances raised by the students of the College. The students are expected to lodge their grievances with their respective tutors who will in turn intimate the matter to the Committee for neces- sary action. If the matter is not resolved by the Committee, the student can approach the Principal.

Special Grievance Redressal Cell for th welfare of SC/ST/OEC Students

This Cell has been formed to assist students belonging to the Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Community

Grievance Redressal Cell for Staff

The Cell functions according to the norms and procedures laid down by the University. It looks into the grievances of the Staff and Support Staff of the College.

 

Grievance Redressal Cell for students with Disabilities

As per the University Order regarding the formulation of the internal committee for the students with disabilities in the college, the council of the college has constituted an internal committee on 20th January 2019. The main objective of the        scheme is to provide encouragement and support to differently-abled students to pursue education and also to assist them in all their needs on campus.
