Distribution of Pulse Oximeters to Primary Health Centres - IEEE Project
All Saints’ College, Thiruvananthapuram distributed 50 pulse oximeters to three neighbouring Primary Health Centres –Veli, Vettucaud, Kadakampalli and Divya Shanthi Ashram, Vettucaud (Akasaparavakal) as part of a project funded by Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers(IEEE) - Humanitarian Activities (HAC)/SIGHT (Special Interest Group on Humanitarian Technology) to support grassroots humanitarian technology that address the COVID-19 pandemic by IEEE members in their local communities. The project was undertaken by the students and faculty from the Departments of Physics, Humanities and NSS Unit of All Saints’ College. Sr. Belinda Pereira, Director, All Saints’ College, distributed the pulse oximeters to representatives from the three health centres on 13th August, 2021. Karikkakom and Sanghumugham Ward Councillors Sri. D G Kumaran and Smt. Seraphine Fredy, Principal Dr. Reshmi R Prasad, Vice Principal Dr. Sr. Pascoela D’Souza graced the occasion. Dr. Anjana P S., Project Coordinator, welcomed the guests and Dr. Veena Suresh Babu proposed vote of thanks. The Project Members Dr. Vidya Nair, Dr. Vijayakumari K., Dr. Ayona Jayadev and Dr. Kavitha were also present for the function. The ward councillors promised to monitor the usage of the oximeters and collect feedback from the beneficiaries.
