An one day National seminar on ‘Transgender problems and prospects’ organized by the Department of History and Political Science, All Saints’ College, Thiruvananthapuram in collaboration with the Association of Third World Studies, South Asia chapter (ATWS-SAC), on 29th January turned out to be the scene of candid revelations of the anguish, the agony and the determination on the part of the transgender to fight the way to social justice and recognition. Mrs. Surya Ishaan, Member, Kerala State Transgender Justice Board, who gave the inaugural address, spoke vividly about the physical, psychological, social and emotional problems faced by the transgender in family, educational institutions and the public domain. She also exposed the hurdles on the path of struggles of transgender towards social justice and equality of genders. Report
