RESEARCH ACTIVITIES OF THE DEPARTMENT
Research is a major component for the growth of an institution. Two of the faculty members of the Department, Dr. J. K. Reshma and Dr. Ayona Jayadev were sanctioned Major Research Projects sponsored by the University Grants commission and a financial support to the tune of Rs. 20, 47,600/- was brought to the Department. Dr. Smitha Asok V., another faculty of the Department got a Major Research Project sanctioned by the Kerala State Council of Science, Technology and Environment with Rs. 13, 35,785/- . Ms. Smitha Asok V. was awarded Doctorate Degree in April, 2013. Smt. Rajani V., another teaching faculty of the Department has a UGC sponsored Minor Research Project with a financial ceiling of Rs. 2 Lakh.
Moreover, the department also has various student funded projects from funding agencies like Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment. The collaboration with Institutions of National repute like IIUCNRM (International and Inter University Centre for Natural Resources Management) is also noteworthy.
