STUDENT AWARDS FOR VARIOUS COMPETITIONS
- Shamila K and Similal K of semester III won the II Prize in the quiz competition organized by British Council ,Chennai and Association of British Scholars, Thiruvananthapuram at Museum Auditorium, Thiruvananthapuram
- Aprna Guleria of Semester III Environmental Sciences participated in the state Youth festival in two events- Hindi essay Writing and Hindi elocution
- Aprna Guleria of Semester III Environmental Sciences won prizes in the literary competitions conducted in the college- I prize in Hindi elocution, I prize in Hindi debate and II prize in Hindi recitation
- Anuja Mohan, III Semester MSc. Student procured II place in Short Story Writing in the ‘Paristhithi Kalotsavam’ Organized by Centre for Gandhian Studies.
- Srthi Thampi of SII Environmental Sciences won the II prize in Rangoli at youth festival conducted at Mavelikkara , February 2013.
- Srthi Thampi of SII Environmental Sciences won the II prize in Mehandi designing conducted at Mar Ivanios College-Ivanofest on February 2013.
- Ms. Aneesa Abdul Jabbar and Ms. Shyma P. Darshan secured second prize for Essay writing Competition and Poster making Competition respectively, held in connection with the World Environment Day Celebration on 5th June, 2013 at Department of Environmental Sciences, University of Kerala, Kariavattom Campus
- Nova Francis, Ms. Aneesa Abdul Jabbar and Shijitha Mohanan (Semester II) secured I, II and III positions in the poster making competition held in connection with the World Blood Donors Day on 14th June, 2013.
- The students participated in different events organized by Department of Museums and Zoos at Museum compound during the Wild Life Week Celebrations 2013(2nd to 8th of October 2013). Archana V.M, Aneesa Abdul Jabbar and Sandra Yesudasan Miranda(S III Environmental Sciences) won 1st ,2nd and 3rd place respectively in the essay writing competitions held in connection with the same
- Semester I students of the department participated in various competitions organized by Kerala State Blood transfusion Council on January 3rd 2014. Four teams were selected for semifinals in quiz competition and Anna Joseph of Semester I Environmental Sciences was selected for finals in elocution competition.
- Sumitra R Nair and Neethu Vijayan were shortlisted for finals in Quiz competition in the event organized by Kerala State Blood transfusion Council on January 8th 2014 at Doordarsan Kendram, Kudappanakunnu, Thiruvananthapuram.
- Anna Joseph of S I Environmental Sciences won the I prize for the state wide elocution competition organized by Kerala State Blood transfusion Council on January 8th 2014 and she received the award from the Hon. Minister for Health, Government of Kerala on 12.1.2014 at Press Club Hall, Thiruvananthapuram.
- Aneesa Abdul Jabbar and Sandra Yesudasan Miranda of MSc S IV Environmental Sciences participated and won first prize in the Quiz competition in the one day seminar on “Scientific outlook on Biodiversity Conservation” in connection with National Science Day Celebrations at Department of Botany, University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram on 24.2.2014.
- The II and the IV Semester students of the Department participated and won second prize in a Poster Making competition (Team event) conducted jointly by N. S. S. and Department of Botany in connection with the World Environment Day 2015 on 04/06/2015.
- Ms Aswathy Asok and Smitha Asok V participated in the National Seminar on Photonics, Medicine and Environment (NSPME – 2016) and was awarded the Best Degree Project Presentation Award for the paper entitled “Assessment of changes in landscape pattern due to urbanization pressure in The Kinfra - Vizhinjam Stretch, Thiruvananthapuram City“ held on 22nd and 23rd June, 2016.
