Financial literacy club aims to provide the students with knowledge, skills and abilities that is necessary to make financially responsible decisions that are important to our everyday life. The activities cover money management which includes; learning how to create and live within a monthly budget, creating wealth, multiple streams of income, planning for future financial needs, how to avoid debts and so on.
- Financial Literacy Club and Investors Club was inaugurated by Dr. Baiju Ramachandran on 23/8/2017
- Under Financial Literacy Club, a Talent Hunt has been conducted by the Synergy School of Business Skills on 15/09/2017.
- Dr. Baiju Ramachandran delivered a talk on Goods & Service Tax (GST) to the members on 23/02/2018.
- Investment Club is an extension activity of Department of Commerce that teaches students how to save and invest money in a fun and practical way. Within the club, students undergo lessons on personal finance, entrepreneurship and investing in Indian financial markets.
- Invited talk on the ‘Need for Budgets and Savings’ by Dr. Ansi Rahila on 19/10/2017.
- On 5th February club members participated in a competition based on the theme: “Business as a form of investment” where they came up with an idea for a business that they can actualise at their level and they submitted a business plan at the end of the period which was judged against predefined criteria.
- All club members are encouraged to open savings accounts in various banks.
