Two day international seminar on Micro Finance – Opportunities and Challenges organized on 7th & 8th February 2014. Rev.Mother Mary Elma, Superior general and Manager, CCK inaugurated the seminar . Keynote address was given by Dr.S.Kevin, Director, Bishop Jerome Institute, Kollam (Former PVC, University of Kerala).

International Financial Reporting Standards in the Indian Context-16th and 17th January 2015

The National Seminar on International Financial Reporting Standards in the Indian context has been conducted on 16th and 17th January by the Department of Commerce. The seminar started by invoking God’s blessings and lighting the lamp by the dignitaries. Dr Srilekha Nair, Associate Professor of Commerce welcomed the chief guest of the seminar Ms Isaac kutty IA&AS Deputy Accountant General. The presidential address was given by Sr Filomina Viegas and the vote of thanks was delivered by Ms Sangeetha S,Assistant professor of commerce and Convenor of the seminar .

The first technical session began at 11.00 am .The theme of the session was IFRS general concepts_ role of auditor in assuring the compliance of accounting standards. Mr Isaac kutty,Deputy Accountant  General gave an enlightening class regarding the topic IFRS . The vote of thanks was given by Sr.Carvalho faustina Cicilia..

The second session began after a lunch break at 1.30 and the theme for the session was Tweets on IFRS, the resource  person Mr.R.Suresh, Chartered Accountant and management consultant, Mohan and Mohan Associates.

 Mr R Suresh CA gave a detailed study regarding IFRS tweets and benefits.. The vote of thanks for this session was delivered by Ms Neethu Hedrin Pereira guest lecturer of commerce. The first day was concluded with the National Anthem

The second day of the seminar that is 17th started with the prayer. The third technical session began at 10 am. Theme for the session was IFRs implication on business. The resource person was Mr. Sanu S J, Assistant professor of management studies Jansons school of business, Coimbatore was welcomed by Ms Rejitha S V Guest lecturer of commerce. He discussed the relevance of IFRS in business. The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms.   Jincy P Babu, Guest lecturer of commerce.

Then comes to the next session. The theme 0f the session was IFRS- A business model revisited. The resource person Dr Deva kumar, Assistant professor of commerce; Women’s college, Trivandrum was welcomed by Ms Remya V L. Guest lecturer of commerce. He took an informational class related to the Convergence of IFRS.Ms Rejitha S V; Guest lecturer of Commerce gave the vote of thanks.

 

            The next session was the paper presentation session. For chairing the session Dr Biji James HOD& Associate professor of Commerce, Mar Ivanios College, Trivandrum was invited by Ms Jincy P Babu, Guest lecturer of commerce. The paper presentation was done by many faculties from various Colleges, Research Scholars, Phil Scholars, and Students within the college and outside the college. All the research scholars put forward their ideas on IFRS as a part of the presentation.  The judging was made by       Dr Biji James, HOD and Associate Professor of Commerce in a knowledgeful speech. And vote of thanks was delivered by Sr.carvalho Faustina Cicila, Assistant  professor of commerce
The final session was the valedictory session. Dr Srilekha, Associate Professor of Commerce invited the honorable Principal of the college. Dr Mariamma A T for the certificate distribution.
Ms Sangeetha.S, Assistant Professor of Commerce and Convenor delivered the vote of thanks for the seminar.
The seminar ended with the National Anthem
