ZOOLOGY ASSOCIATION
The Inauguration of the activities of the Zoology Association for the academic year 2011-12 was conducted on 19th August, 2011. Dr. Usha Balaram, former H.O.D of the Department of Zoology, All Saints’ College inaugurated the programme and delivered a speech on the Biodiversity- its importance and need for conservation. An informative and interesting film show on Biodiversity and Food Security was also projected for the students of the Department.
FIELD STUDY TRIP
A one-day field study trip was organized on 24th October, 2011 for the final year students to the Neyyar Wild Life Sanctuary. The students visited the Deer rehabilitation park, Elephant rehabilitation centre, Agastya Crocodile Park and the Lion Safari Park. An one hour trekking programme to the forest was arranged. The students also attended an informative lecture delivered by Mr. Robinson, Officer in charge of Wild life conservation. Dr.Dhanalekshmy T. G. and Dr. D. Sherly accompanied the students.
PTA MEETING
The PTA meeting of the second year and final year students was held in the Department on 20th and 25th July, 2011 respectively.
ZOASC MEETING
The Departmental OSA meeting of the 2005-08 batch was organized in the Department on 7th February, 2011.
ZOOLOGY ASSOCIATION ACTIVITES
Sixty nine students of the department along with Dr. Dhanalekshmy T.G. and Dr.D. Sherly visited the All Kerala Medical Exhibition on 16th Jan. 2012 organized by ‘MEDEX’, 2012 of Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram from Jan.18 to 26, 2012 in context with the Diamond Jubilee Celebration of Medical education in Kerala.
